NO IMPACT MAN

The Hungry Marching Band rocked as we blended delicious bike powered lemonade at the ROOFTOP FILMS eco-carnival which preceded the screening of No Impact Man at Automotive High School.

No Impact Man is a wonderful documentary account of the Beaven family (Colin, Michelle and Isabella) who decided to try to make no impact on the environment for one year while living in New York. As they gave up modern conveniences like electricity, air conditioning, laundry machines, cabs and refrigerators; they found that eating locally, know where their food comes from, and biking everywhere…made them happier and healthier.

They have a screening coming up in September and we will be organizing bike rides to the Landmark Sunshine Theater to support this inspirational film.

Featured in the film is our very own Moustache’s Uncles: Ronnie and Rick Osofsky from Ronnybrook Farm(Where they make the best ice cream on the planet.)

Another notable was the folks from Hawthorn Valley, who are providing the yogurt for the upcoming Greenhorns Goat Spit.

I recently wrote a song featuring all of the farms on the menu and the Band of Bicycles will perform it on June 20th (in Brooklyn at the Corner of Sackett & Henry, 1-9pm) as we bike power music.
