Davis Bike Collective’s Resources for WTF

While researching Girl Friendly Bike Maintenance on the Internet I found that there were no bike maintenance videos lead by women on Youtube.  The only closely relating item I found was a bike collective in Davis California that caters to WTF.

WTF? What’s that? Sarah McCullough helps run Davis Bike Collective where shun the negative tool grabbing  and bossy behaviour sometimes associated with testosterone in favor of a learning environment, amazing appealing informative bike art (by Cat Callaway, they will be printed and hung in the B& Shoppe soon), and a cooperative where everyone can learn to fix their bike no matter how high their seat or big their sprocket.  After a gender Workshop held by Silbey Bike Depot at the annual bikebike conference last summer in Minneapolis,  the Davis Bike Collective decided to quit re-enforcing gender binaries and renamed their ladies bike night WTF (Women Trans Femme).

bikebike is a really cool annual workshop, skill share for community bike shops to get together. The conference will be held in Toronto, by Bike Pirates, August 12-15, 2010.  From their website: Some things which may (or may not) take place include (but are not by any means limited to): Anti-oppression, Consensus Decision Making, and Working with Kids workshops, as well as a dance party, a scavenger hunt, a ride-in movie screening, and other bike rides.

Upon some research, Toronto is 6 days away by walking and 10 hours away by driving. Seems to me we could probably bike it in a few days. Shall we play a show there?
