Yesterday attended DIY Days and found it particularly helpful in unraveling a plethora of creative quandry about my goals for the spring and summer. There is a widespread community of amazing projects being developed so that we can reclaim our lives as artists, distribute independently, help each other! I am going to focus 100 percent on bike culture in Bushwick.
I met the lovely and inspirational cinematographer and mechanical engenieer, Amy Bench who I hope will collaborate on many levels from pedal powered invention to documenting and publishing through weekly sitcoms chronicling our journey, meeting co-conspirators, shooting my all girl bike dance troupe, and catching the B& in their pedal powered journeys and music making. The Band of Bicycles bike shop is in need of some serious loving. We need bike tools. Next week I am going to dust out all of the winter and get organized. I want to build bikes and I want to have a weekly sitcom featuring grrrl bike repair. Eventually there will be even more heels on wheels commuting and carrying their lunch in their paniers, bike baskets, or fa
shionably retroflective bike bag and when we aren’t shooting cell phone movies, or pedaling the streets we’ll be playing tall bike joust.
For next week I want to repair and sell my first bike and publish our first episode! It is going to be an amazing summer!
