I bought my bike, affectionately known as Whale Land, a year ago from Joe at Traif (now Time’s Up). It was love at first sight. My little black cruiser hails from Japan and cost me only $100. Whale Land allows me to sit up straight, which my yoga practice likes, and pairs well with heels while I ride.
Last week Whale Land needed a tire replacement and because she has such a unique design she wasn’t put back together correctly by my neighborhood bike shop. After retrieving Whale Land I found that my awesome kickstand no longer functioned:( Luckily I have access (like everyone else) to the Bike Salon at 3rd Ward where all my bike dreams have come true. Awesome bike mechanic, Steven, and I took a a look at Whale Land’s special set up. We took her apart and put her back together. She’s now working better than the day I bought her.
Some questions arose while examining my precious lovely bike.
1. What is this type of brake called?
We checked out all that’s googleable to no avail.
These stickers came with the bike but WHAT DOES IT MEAN?
Please write in with answers or ridiculous theories.
yours truly in bike adoration,
Vness

Whale Land is where whales live because they live on land.
whale land means a whole lot of land and we have to protect our ocean so that the whales can swim in it, thank’s vanessa for letting us know about the cruiser situation. yoga loves bikes! xx have you heard of the Wonderlust festival in Lake Tahoe Yoga Music..maybe next year we bring bike powered music with you and Baby???!!!
