Speedway Meadows in Golden Gate Park is our day venue, with amazing pedal powered performances by:
Sean Hayes: One of SF’s favorite rockers. Surprisingly danceable. Thanks to drummer Ezra Lipp for backlining drums for the entire festival. Don’t miss the video of Sean and Ezra at last year’s BMF. Spaceheater A brainy but gritty jazz / hip hop sextet. Part of the acclaimed Jazz Mafia. | video
Judgement Day Virtuosic Heavy Metal Cello.  | videoDiana Gameros A beautiful voice, Diana sings classic and original latin songs with an acoustic quartet. | video
Tri Tip Trio Rollicking Zydeco influenced boogies. Great dance energy. | video

Plus Big Tadoo Puppet Crew, Bike Blended Smoothies, and more.

Performing LiveOnBike at Sunday Streets

We’re featuring three LiveOnBike performers at BMF this year:

- Yours truly, Fossil Fool, performing new songs like “Funky Quadricycle” on El Arbol with special guests Mafiosa Felice, Justin Ancheta, and Joel Elrod
- Obo Martin – Listen to the words! A great folk rocker with wit and presence.
- Justin Ancheta – Reggae, rock, and live looping from this SF based street performer and Rock The Bike mainstay.

LiveOnBike.com, a new video blog, is now online,

but don’t wait for the video from this year’s BMF.

LiveOnBike.com compiles the best videos from this amazing new art form. We encourage others from the Bike Music community to submit new videos. If you love LiveOnBike, spread the word by by posting this link.

Help us keep and grow the LiveOnBike performance movement by riding safely and keeping our group as tight as possible. Spreading out causes our ride to take longer to cross major intersections and MUNI lines. This has been the major concern of the police we’ve been meeting this spring and summer. Plus staying tight helps us establish more of a performance energy.

6PM: An amazing night venue: LoCura, Manicato, The Nerv, and The Getback to rock Showplace Triangle.

Showplace (map link) is the largest of the city’s popular Pavement To Parks temporary parks. The whole point of these mini-parks is to provide fresh, new, inspiring public spaces. Let’s show ‘em how it’s done.

Performer links:
Manicato The father/son frontmen in this reggae / salsa / hip hop act broke it down for BMF in 2008, check the  video
LoCura Danceable latin and flamenco tinged rock, they’ve played to sold out crowds at the Independent and Great American earlier this year. | video
The Nerv Local bike kids gone punk. | video
The Getback This talented East Bay hip hop act was a hit on the Pedal Powered Stage at Maker Faire and will close out our festival | video
Plus silk climbing with Karlanga

Do’s and Don’ts:

Leave No Trace! The City has been gracious with BMF this year and has expressed concern about leaving trash and trampling the grass at Showplace Triangle. Don’t litter! Bring blankets!

Please bring tips for the performers you dig! Musicians are paid out of audience generosity. Heed and feed the Golden Geese!

Pump up your tires and lube the chain today so your bike is ready.

See you on Saturday at Bicycle Music Festival!

Keep Riding,

Fossil Fool
